2026 ASIDxIIDAxNEWH Student Career Day

All regional design students are warmly welcomed to join us at the 2026 Student CareerDay, hosted by ASID Pennsylvania East, IIDA PA/NJ/DE, and NEWH AC/Philadelphia at Global Furniture Group. This event offers a unique opportunity for students to engage with a diverse array of professionals, including designers, manufacturer representatives, developers, and more, providing invaluable exposure and insights into the industry.

Throughout the day, attendees will have the chance to hear from keynote speakers Louis Iannone with Eimer Design and Julianne Peters with Design Success Network and participate in breakout sessions of choice with industry professionals highlighting the different sectors of this field. Additionally, students can take advantage of portfolio and resume reviews to enhance their professional materials, followed by a networking reception for students to connect with industry experts and fellow peers to conclude the evening.

Undergraduate and Graduate Students Welcome!

All aspiring designers, whether you're pursuing your undergraduate or graduate degree, are cordially invited to join us at the 2026 Student Career Day, hosted by ASID PA East, IIDA PA/NJ/DE, and NEWH AC/Philly.

This event offers a unique opportunity for students to engage with a diverse range of professionals including designers, manufacturers, developers, and more. Through networking and discussions, attendees will gain valuable insights into the industry and the pathways to becoming a well-prepared professional.

Career Day is entirely FREE and promises to provide a comprehensive preparation experience for students gearing up for internships and entry-level positions. We encourage participants to dress in business casual attire, and we welcome students from all levels to take part.

Spaces are limited, so we encourage you to register at your earliest convenience. Don't forget to bring your portfolios and resumes, whether they're finished or still a work in progress – there's always room for improvement!
Portfolio/Resume Reviews:

For portfolio and resume reviews, students are advised to bring them in either print or digital format. For digital portfolios, students must bring their own laptop or tablet to review their work with a professional, as these will not be provided. Any work, even if it's still a work in progress, is encouraged to be brought along.

During this part of the event, we have allocated six 20-minute rounds for student and professional matchups. When your time is up, students are encouraged to switch to a new professional, although they can choose to continue their conversation with their current match if they wish. If a student feels they have received sufficient feedback, they can begin networking, as food and beverages will be available starting at 5:00pm.

If a student or professional needs to leave before the event ends, please inform the Career Day team so they can accommodate this need.

This FREE event aims to provide design students with a comprehensive professional preparation experience as they gear up for internships and entry-level positions.

We are actively seeking professionals to engage with students in various sessions, including resume and portfolio reviews. Your expertise is invaluable in guiding students to enhance their portfolio presentation and identify areas for improvement. This is also an opportunity to get to know the students and offer assistance with interview skills to better prepare them for job applications.

Please help spread the word about this event to colleagues who may be interested in volunteering. Business casual attire is recommended, and we warmly encourage students of all levels to participate.
