2026 Annual Design Awards

The Atlanta Urban Design Commission’s annual Design Awards celebrate projects that elevate the city’s-built environment. First presented in 1978, the Awards of Excellence were created to recognize outstanding contributions to Atlanta’s architectural character, thoughtful land use, and forward‑looking design rooted in preservation values.

More than four decades later, the program continues to spotlight exemplary work that shapes Atlanta’s identity—honoring achievements in architecture, adaptive reuse, landscape design, planning, and community-focused development. The Awards highlight not only the winning projects but also the ongoing efforts of the Office of Design to support a more vibrant, resilient, and well-designed city.

Open to the public and free to enter, the competition invites submissions from professionals, organizations, and community members. Each year culminates in a celebration of the honorees whose work demonstrates design excellence and contributes meaningfully to Atlanta’s urban fabric.
