2026 Annual April National Child Abuse Prevention Month Convening.

This year, FCCAP is pleased to announce our 45th anniversary as the official child abuse prevention council for Fresno County. The theme is the “Starfish Story”, a parable that everyone can make a difference no matter how small,,, because we believe this story fits perfectly into the work we all do as child abuse prevention advocates. The event program will feature Prevention Partnerships that have successfully fulfilled our mission to “coordinate community efforts to prevent and respond to child abuse and neglect”.

By acknowledging difficult scenarios with successful outcomes in child abuse intervention and prevention, we validate collaborative efforts and build a positive culture for the seemingly relentless continued challenges facing parents and professionals today. Recent media news of systemic failures in child welfare is an opportunity for us to engage in effective problem-solving examples and thus highlight positive impact. This year’s convening is designed to pay tribute to agencies, professionals and parents for their commitment and resilience in protecting children and strengthening families.
