2026/2027 FLA Season Sister's Creek 2 of 3 Season Opener - Event 1
Our first tournament for the season will be out of the Sisters Creek ramp on Sept 12th for 2 of 3 (species - redfish, trout or flounder). All teams must check in (Have your team #) at the ramp or text Phil Zeller your boat number at 904-874-1771 to be entered in the tourney. Check in will be located near Phil Zeller's white SUV in the parking lot (we will announce the location on a loud speaker). Optional Tourney within a tourney will be offered then ($50 cash buy in).
Safe light will be at 6:45 am and even numbered teams will go first with odd numbered teams following 2 minutes behind. An air horn will signal the start. The staging area will be the bridge fenders to the south and the concrete bulkhead of the ramp to the north. You must be back inside the same starting area by 3pm or you will be DQ'd. Weigh-in will begin at 3:20 PM.
Individual Tournament Results:
The winner is determined by the heaviest total bag of up to two fish, with a maximum allowance of only one fish per species. Fish sizes: Redfish must measure between 18 and 27 inches, Seatrout between 15 and 19 inches, and Flounder must meet a minimum length of 14 inches. Additionally, catching the maximum number of allowable fish takes absolute precedence over weight, meaning a two-fish bag will automatically beat a one-fish entry regardless of total poundage. Finally, to encourage proper fish care, any dead fish presented at the scales will incur a costly 1-pound weight penalty against the team's total.
Season's Point Race for Team of the Year:
The FLA points system for the Team of the Year allocates place points incrementally based on a team's tournament finish, starting with 75 points for first place and scaling down to 1 point for 75th place. If a reduced fleet of 20 teams weighs in, the scale shifts so the final placing team earns 55 points, while any participating teams that start the tournament but fail to weigh a fish are penalized by receiving 5 points less than that last-place team (yielding 50 points in a 20-team scenario).
Live fish presented at the scale receive 2 points per fish. All fish must be released after the tournament, unless the fish is dead at the scales or feels the fish will not survive after release.
Lifejackets and K*ll switch on when the big motor is running. Common water safety rules must be followed at all times. No passing in minimum or no wake zones. No boundaries, except running or fishing in the ocean (past inlet's jetty).

Any teams registering after 2pm on Friday the 11th, will receive a team number at check-in.
If this is your 1st time fishing with the FLA, we encourage you to arrive by 615am so you have plenty of time to check in and launch. Typical practice is to park, check in, prepare your boat, and then launch. Please know your team number and have exact change if your plan to put in on the Calcutta to speed up tournament check-in and weigh-in.
Teams are required to use the FLA Accu-Cull 2-part weigh bag for weigh-in. If your team doesn't already have one of these bags from a prior season, the bags may be purchased at our captain's meeting or at check-in before the tournament for $50
