A treasured seasonal event is coming soon to one of the oldest churches in Terre Haute, with the city’s longest-lasting congregation. The 2025 Winter Fest Concert takes place on Sunday, December 7th at 2:00 pm, at First Congregational Church, 630 Ohio Street.Doors open at 1:30 pm; admission is free for all children younger than 18, and $10 for adults. Cookies and punch to follow the concert.
Come enjoy beloved Christmas carols and popular songs performed by the First Congregational Church Winter Fest Chorus, Joyful Noise wind ensemble, and the Wabash Valley String Posse dulcimer group. Winter Fest will also feature two prominent native Hautian vocal soloists: operatic soprano Tiffany Herring, who has performed in the US, Europe, South America, and Africa; and baritone Rondrell Moore, former WTHI-TV news anchor, and recipient of two Ohio Valley Emmy nominations.
The concert will be emceed by WTWO-TV’s Julie Henricks, and directed by Tiffany Herring. The Rev.
Dr. Vicky Eaton will open the event with a prayer.
In addition to the concert, Winter Fest will have delicious homemade strawberry jam for sale, made by the church’s historic “Mayflower Guild”, and a beautiful, hand-crafted quilt to auction. Both would make unique holiday gifts.
The First Congregational Church is an historic edifice built in 1902-1903, and the second building to house a congregation, founded in 1834. Included in the National Register of Historic Places, its Gothic
Revival style is notable its intricate designs and collection of magnificent stained glass windows.
Winter Fest is a seasonal version of First Congregational Church’s highly popular summer fundraiser, Strawberry Fest.
