The time has come for another Troy-Columbia alumni game, but with a twist!This year's game will be Saturday, April 5th at 8 pm. We will be back at Frear Park thanks to TC alum Jim Gordon who has generously secured the ice for us free of charge.
The alumni game will consist of players from both Troy and Columbia high schools. My hope is we get enough players from each school so we can do our first-ever Troy vs. Columbia game with Troy wearing dark purple and Columbia wearing baby blue. If RSVPs don't work out we'll go with the regular format, instead.
We usually open up the game to "friends of TC" (i.e. people who didn't play for the program but are somehow connected to either school) but priority will be given to actual TC alumni and we'll fill in gaps with "friends" if needed as we get closer.
The cost to play is $25 per player and proceeds from the game will be donated to the Capital Cup for Kids, the annual charity hockey tournament benefiting local charities for families with sick kids such as Building on Love and Make a Wish of Northeastern NY.
After the game, folks can head over to Brown's Brewery for drinks and food, whatever you'd like.
Regarding jerseys, I'm expecting custom jerseys with name and numbers will be about $65 each. I intend to have the current purple TC jerseys available but we might be able to order some with just T or Troy for those who want that, and if we have a Columbia team we'll offer baby blue CHS jerseys, too.
Please RSVP for the game by March 7th. Once we know who's in, I'll settle on rosters and then we'll know what the jersey order would look like. Jersey orders will be due a week later on the 14th and registration/jersey payments will be due March 21st.
