About this Event
Join the Breathe California Sacramento Region Tobacco team and Youth Advisory Board at River Bend Park for the annual Tobacco Litter Pick-Up event on May 31st from 3:30pm - 6:00pm PT! Breathe California Sacramento Region will offer on-site training in partnership with the American River Parkway Foundation and the Equestrian Patrol with opportunities to win raffle prizes! Volunteers will be required to complete a waiver form (adult, youth) upon arrival and free parking is available (pick up parking pass upon arrival and sign-in). Come out and help keep our parks and waterways free of tobacco waste and make connections with the community.
EVENT DATE: Friday, May 31st from 3:30PM-6PM PT
- Starting at 3:30PM PT for coffee and snacks
- Tobacco litter pickup on Friday, May 31st starting at 4PM PT at [River Bend Park: 38.589972, -121.323417, Rancho Cordova, CA, 95670https://goo.gl/maps/A9hCGKSs51jZC1Vo9>]. PLEASE refer to the coordinates and google maps location to meet at the designated section we will be holding the tobacco litter pickup event at River Bend Park.
- When you arrive, please turn right at the pay station and park at the first parking lot. The American River Parkway Foundation (ARPF) will bring free volunteer parking passes, so please DO NOT pay for parking at the pay station.
Before the event:
• Please complete a waiver and bring it with you (please find both our adult and youthwaivers attached). For volunteers under 18 their guardian needs to complete the waiver, and for volunteers 15 and under they will need to be accompanied by a designated adult for the entirety of the clean-up.

before the clean-up. *We will do a brief introduction and another safety talk before the clean-up.During the event
• We recommend to please wear sturdy/comfortable closed-toe shoes, long pants, a hat, and sunscreen.
• ARPF will provide trash bags, gloves, extra water, and snacks. We do recommend that you bring your own water and you are welcome to bring your own tools such as trash grabbers.
• For the safety of our volunteers, ARPF volunteer events are subject to cancellation in the case of weather, flooding, and other natural causes. An email notifying all volunteers and staff will be sent out if we need to cancel.
