The Top 5 Roadblocks Stopping Your Firm’s IG Implementation and How to Fix it
Host: Rob Mattern
Info: Most firms’ IG policies are simply not enforced. In an era where data management is becoming an increasing business priority across all of the firm’s business centers, this is not a tenable position.
In this session, Rob Mattern will walk through recent industry data that zeroes in on the top 5 bottlenecks blocking firms from implementing their IG policies. From widespread cultures of “exception granting” to an industry-wide lack of strategy to contain data sprawl, this session reviews highlights from Mattern’s 2024 IG Survey which shows that while 94% of firms have an IG policy of some kind in place, enforcement is weak and the key culprit that robs firms of a defensible program.

Case Study: Countywide Backfile Conversion of Hennepin County Records
Host: John Jensen
Info: Hennepin County initiated a massive countywide project to assess the disposition of 32,857
boxes located in onsite and offsite storage in 2022. The boxes are reviewed and processed for
destruction, retention, or imaging. The Hennepin County backfile conversion project supports
the vision of Future Ready Hennepin by converting paper records to digital and formalizes a
digitization process going forward. The project, and its results, will significantly reduce costs,
reduce our carbon footprint, and increase efficiency and responsiveness related to records.
