27th San Marco Art Festival – Balis Park San Marco Square

November 29th – 30th 2025

The 27th San Marco Art Festival will take place in Balis Park located in San Marco Square at 1999 San Marco Blvd Jacksonville FL 32207 on Saturday and Sunday November 29th and 30th 2025.

This annual festival now in its 27th year will bring together over 30 artists who will set up their tents throughout Balis Park for a two-day celebration of art. The event held in the heart of historic San Marco Square offers free admission to all attendees. Traffic will not be blocked around the Square and ample free parking will be available ensuring convenient access for all festival-goers.

The artwork featured at the festival is carefully curated representing a diverse range of mediums including painting sculpture woodwork glasswork and hand-made jewelry all crafted by talented local and regional Florida artists. Reflections on the Festival's Recent History

Rula Carr Owner of The Vault at 1930 Art Gallery shared her thoughts on the recent history and revival of the San Marco Art Festival:

“In 2019 we saw the need to ‘Bring The Festival Back’ to San Marco after the annual event had been absent for several years. Emerging from the COVID pandemic in 2022 and with the support of the San Marco Merchants Association the festival returned with great success from 2022 through 2024 attracting hundreds of patrons each day. We are thrilled to once again promote the 2025 San Marco Art Festival and to continue supporting our local artists. We encourage everyone to come out support the event and celebrate the creativity of our talented artists and galleries. Art surrounds us daily—whether it's a painting that brings us joy an advertisement that sparks our imagination or a cartoon we share with friends. Art is a fundamental part of humanity a means of self-expression and communication.

Events like this festival are vital for strengthening our connections with the local community our city our artists and our small businesses. We urge everyone to support LOCAL artists and businesses!”

About San Marco Square

San Marco Square is a historic business district at the heart of the San Marco community. The annual San Marco Art Festival takes place in Balis Park which is situated in the center of the Square. Artists display their work around the Fountain of Lions a landmark that emphasizes the neighborhood's ties to the business districts of Venice Italy. While attending the festival visitors are encouraged to explore San Marco’s variety of businesses including trendy boutiques art galleries bookstores coffee and tea shops and a wide selection of cafes and restaurants.

About Balis Park – San Marco Centennial 1925–2025

Balis Park is centrally located within San Marco Square a commercial hub in south Jacksonville. In 2025 the San Marco community celebrates its Centennial marking 100 years since the neighborhood’s development began in 1925. One of the first commercial buildings in the area was a Spanish-style Gulf service station built in early 1927. The city later acquired this parcel in 1984 to develop Balis Park fulfilling the vision of the San Marco Preservation Society and local merchants for a community centerpiece. Abla Balis a longtime resident funded the park’s development in memory of her late husband Sheffield Balis. The park was dedicated in January 1988 with later improvements such as a sound system the bronze sculpture "Windy Days" and enhanced landscaping all funded by the Balis estate and the city
