About this Event
As communities across Utah face consistent housing affordability challenges, planners and community and economic development experts must work together to find opportunities for Missing Middle Housing.
Why Is This So Important?
- Housing Costs: Housing construction is falling behind. With the median home sale price being severely unaffordable for the average Utahn, planners must understand the impact of market dynamics on plan feasibility to support development.
- Development Pressure: Salt Lake County isn’t getting any bigger, and as our communities are built-out and housing demand rises, cities across the county are feeling intense pressure from developers to build, build, build.
- Municipal Revenue: Cities have the unique opportunity to meet that pressure with thoughtful plans that support strategic growth and economic sustainability. Through the incorporation of mixed-use development, communities can encourage higher revenue generation while facilitating efficient centers where people can afford to live.
Join us on October 29th for the "2025 Regional Solutions: Finding Middle Housing" event, where we will confront these pressing issues and explore innovative strategies to implement Missing Middle Housing.
