Welcome to the 2025 Queensland Disaster Management Research Forum
Join us for a dynamic day of learning, sharing, and collaboration at the Queensland Disaster Management Research Forum, open to all disaster management practitioners, researchers, and students. This event is designed to foster meaningful connections between research and practice, encouraging dialogue and innovation in disaster resilience.

Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Registration opens at 8:30 AM)
Cost: Free
Registration: Open for both in-person and virtual attendance

Developed in collaboration with the Queensland Research Forum Working Group, the forum will feature:
- Informative sessions: Explore latest research and practical applications in disaster management.
- Panel discussions: Hear from experts and thought leaders shaping the future of resilience.
- Networking opportunities: Connect with peers, build partnerships, and spark new ideas.
Accommodation: Optional, with costs covered by you or your organisation. Reservations can be made via the Rydges Southbank Website.
Parking and directions: Valet at Rydges: $55/day
Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre: $30/day
Driving: Should you require parking at the hotel, a valet parking charge of $55.00 per vehicle will apply. Alternatively, you can park at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre for $30.00.
Train: The closest station to the hotel is South Brisbane station. When you exit the station you will be facing the Queensland Performing Arts Complex. Turn right onto Grey Street – the hotel is 300 metres up the street on the same side as the station.
Bus: The closest bus station to the hotel is South Brisbane station. When you exit the station you will be facing the Queensland Performing Arts Complex. Turn right onto Grey Street – the hotel is 300 metres up the street on the same side as the station.
