2025 NYC Basque Film Festival

Enjoy exclusive screenings of Robot Dreams, an acclaimed animated tragicomedy film shortlisted for the 2024 Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film; Bizkarsoro, portraits the enduring influence of language as a marker of identity, and the struggle for cultural and communal survival amid historical change; and Los Williams, a family and sports documentary narrated in first person by Iñaki and Nico Williams. Two brothers, footballers, Basques, and descendants of Ghanaians.

**Admission is first come, first served until capacity is reached.

This events are currently scheduled to take place at Village East by Angelika. Doors will open around 6:30 PM.

For free events, we generally overbook to ensure a full house. Priority will be given to those who have registered in advance, but registration does not guarantee admission.

If you register for multiple tickets, please provide the name of each person who will be attending the event or arrive with your entire party present. Only registered patrons will be granted entry into the event space. A standby line will form 15 minutes before the program.

DOG lives in Manhattan and he's tired of being alone. One day he decides to build himself a robot, a companion. Their friendship blossoms, until they become inseparable, to the rhythm of 80's NYC. One summer night, DOG, with great sadness, is forced to abandon ROBOT at the beach. Will they ever meet again?

Bizkarsoro

In a non-existent town, five true stories based on oral testimonials and texts by writers take place between 1914 and 1982. Through them, we see the social changes experienced throughout the 20th century by a small town in the Northern Basque Country, the deep-rootedness and approximation of a language, and the struggle for survival.

Los Williams

Los Williams / The Williams, a feature-length documentary, familiar and sporting, told in first-person by Iñaki and Nico Williams. Two brothers, footballers, Basques, and descendants of Ghanaians. Two international stars, face to face with their past and their future, through the conflicts that have marked their lives: racism, identity, frustration, ambition, and success.
