2025 New Year's Resolutions for a Healthy 501(c)(3)

Our in-person workshop will cover the requirements & restrictions for a healthy 501( c)(3)nonprofit.

Is your organization running properly? Are you afraid that there may be requirements and restrictions you are unaware of? Our workshop will cover the legal basics of operating as a healthy nonprofit. Start off the year strong with solid foundations:

• Reporting: what does the IRS require from us every year?
• What kinds of activities can get our nonprofit in trouble?

• Fundraising: what's allowed?
• Receipts: When do we give them and what should they say?

About the Presenter

Denice Ko, Esq., is Deputy Director at Community Law Center. Ms. Ko joined Community Law Center in late 2017 as a volunteer attorney and became a Staff Attorney in 2019. She represents community associations and other nonprofit organizations for capacity building and nonprofit best practices, and provides legal services for a range of contract and compliance matters. Ms. Ko graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law and is a member of the Maryland Bar.

Who should register?

All are welcome though this workshop is designed for board members, anyone involved in any nonprofit organization, or anyone who is interested in learning about nonprofit management.

Cost to attend the workshop

The cost for one person to attend the workshop is $30. Additional attendees from the same organization may sign up for a discounted rate! Two participants from the same organization can pay $25 each.

Accessing the Workshop

This workshop will be hybrid, with the in-person option held at our office, 3355 Keswick Rd, Suite 200, Baltimore MD 21211. The LocalLinkBus #21 stops a block away from our office. A link will be shared to registrants the day of the workshop.

Cancellations and Refunds

Refunds will be accepted up to 48 hours before the workshop. If you, or your designee, do not attend the workshop you signed up for, the fee is non-refundable.
