WHAT IS LOBBY DAY?

Legislative Lobby Days is a one-day event that educates students and professionals about important legislation affecting clients and the social work profession. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the legislative process and get a "hands-on" lobbying experience of talking with state legislators about important policy issues.

PRICING

Pricing for the 2025 Lobby Day includes lunch and up to 3 CEUs for those needing them for license renewal.

**Note: Regular admission price ends February 7, 2025. Tickets purchased after February 14, 2025, will be required to pay a late fee.

STUDENT POLICY POSTER PRESENTATIONS

We are excited to bring back the Student Policy Poster Presentations to Lobby Day. Each attending school is invited to bring one policy poster to display at the event and select one student, or small group, to present using a maximum 5-minute PowerPoint/Presi/Multimedia (Microsoft supported) presentation. A panel of Arkansas social workers and policy experts will select the winning policy poster based on specific judging criteria. BSW and MSW presentations will be judged separately.

Each presentation should focus on a priority issue from the NASW Arkansas 2025 Legislative Agenda. The legislative agenda, presentation guidelines, and submission forms have been provided to school faculty and can be found on our website at www.naswar.org.

2025 LOBBY DAY AGENDA

7 :30 am - Check-in Begins

8 :30 am - Welcome by NASW Arkansas President -

8 :40 am - Keynote Speaker

9 :00 am - Keynote Speaker

9 :20 am - Introduction of Bills and Talking Points

9 :50 am - Committee Meetings at the Capitol

1 2:00 pm - Lunch at Arkansas Education Association (AEA)

1 2:45 pm - Student Poster Presentations

1 :30 pm - Meetings with Legislators at the Capitol

3 :00 pm - Group Picture (meet on the front steps of the Capitol)

3 :20 pm - Keynote Speaker

3 :40 pm - AEA - Presentation of Awards

4 :00 pm - Complete and turn in:

Lobby Day Evaluation, Legislative Visit Report, and Thank You Notes

TIPS FOR LOBBY DAY

¨ Check the weather forecast in case you need an umbrella or coat.

¨ Arrive early. Leave plenty of time to find parking.

¨ Consider carpooling. There will be no reserved parking.

¨ Dress professionally or in business casual.

¨ For inclement weather: If the Little Rock School District closes due to inclement weather, Lobby Day will be canceled.

Refund Policy

Attendees needing to cancel their registration may do so and receive a refund up until February 14, 2025. Cancellations/refund requests must be made in writing by emailing [email protected]. Please include your name, phone number, and ticket number in the email. Refunds will not be issued after February 14, 2025.
