The 2025 Annual JP Dog Swim is here! Bring your spayed or neutered dog to the pool to cool off on September 2, rain date September 3. Humans may not enter the water past their knees. Dogs must be licensed with Frederick County, MD, and escorted by an adult.
A waiver must be signed to participate. Check your email for the waiver, or sign one upon arrival.

Dog Swim Event Rules
No persons are permitted to enter the pool beyond knee-depth while dogs are present. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in immediate removal from the event.
All individuals utilizing the facility do so entirely at their own risk. Dog owners shall be solely and fully responsible for the actions and behavior of their dog(s) at all times. The Residences at Jefferson Place Homeowners Association (HOA) and its agents, employees, and volunteers shall not be held liable for any injury, damage, loss, or liability of any kind whatsoever, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or death, caused by any dog, person, or circumstance at the community pool facility during this event.
A fully completed and executed waiver is an absolute prerequisite for participation in this event.
Only the main community pool is designated for this event. The wading pool is expressly closed and prohibited from use.
All participating dogs must possess and display current county license and proof of all required vaccinations, including rabies. County tags are required to demonstrate compliance.
All participating dogs must be spayed or neutered without exception.
Dogs must be accompanied by their legal owner, who must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
Owners are strictly limited to a maximum of two (2) dogs participating at any given time.
Dogs must remain under the immediate and effective voice control of their owner at all times while within the event premises.
Dogs must be securely leashed when entering and exiting the pool facility and at any other time as deemed necessary by event volunteers.
Any dog exhibiting the slightest sign of aggression towards people or other animals must be immediately removed from the premises by its owner. Failure to comply will result in the owner and dog(s) being required to leave the event.
Owners are solely responsible for the immediate clean-up and proper disposal of all dog feces. Waste must be securely sealed in provided plastic bags and deposited only in designated receptacles.
The following dogs are strictly prohibited from participation: Dangerous dogs as defined by law, puppies under six (6) months of age, dogs with any known parasites, and any dogs exhibiting aggressive or non-socialized behavior.
Children accompanying owners must remain under the direct supervision and control of their parent/guardian at all times. Unaccompanied children are prohibited from the pool area.
