2025 Friends of Susan B. Anthony Women's Equality Day Luncheon

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, we will celebrate the 177th anniversary of the women’s rights convention in Seneca Falls, New York in 1848 and the 105th anniversary of the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution (woman suffrage) 1920. We invite the community to this event, which began as an informal birthday party for Susan B. Anthony over forty years ago, and is now held in conjunction with the anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote.

The luncheon will feature an award presentation and a speaker.

Each year a local woman is recognized who exemplifies the spirit of Susan B. Anthony. This year, Evelyn Foxx will be honored for her tireless and long activism on behalf of civil rights and her leadership of the local chapter of the NAACP.

The featured speaker will be Dr. Jeanna Mastrodicasa, Director of the Office of Institutional Assessment at the University of Florida. Dr. Mastrodicasa will be speaking on the ways in which the Women’s Giving Circle of the Community Foundation of North Central Florida has had a profound and positive impact on many non-profit organizations supporting women and girls for the last 20 years.

Luncheon selections include chicken marsala or eggplant parmesan, both served with a salad, rolls, and dessert. Please indicate if you have other dietary restrictions.

• Adult luncheon tickets are $35

• Youth tickets (21 & under) are $20
