It is that time of year for the rising stars of Fort Wayne bowling to take center stage as part of the 61st Annual "YOUTH CITY CHAMPIONSHIPS" at Thunder Bowl I. This years' festivities will take place on December 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st.
NOTE: Please read entry form carefully regarding shift times.
2025 Fort Wayne Metro USBC "YOUTH CITY CHAMPIONSHIPS" RULES
1. ELIGIBILITY: This tournament is sanctioned by USBC and open to Fort Wayne Metro Youth members ONLY (Fort Wayne High School Bowling included).
2. AVERAGES: A bowler must use their highest 2024-2025 yearbook average in any league with a minimum of 9 games. Or a minimum 9 game current league average in Ft. Wayne Metro as of December 8th, 2025. One copy of the league standing sheet, which contains both the first and last name of each bowler, must be made available upon request.
3. PARTICIPATION: Bowlers may enter ONLY compete in Doubles & Singles competition ONCE during the tournament. Bowlers are permitted to participate in DOUBLES ONLY or SINGLES ONLY. Entrants will bowl doubles first and then MOVE ONE PAIR TO THE RIGHT to bowl Singles. Bowlers may participate in MULTIPLE team competitions if they desire, however at least TWO team members MUST CHANGE in the team lineup. First team score counts for All Events. Tardy players may compete in doubles but will have scores marked “ZERO” for frames missed or use a sub as long that bowler is not already scheduled for doubles.
4. SUBSTITUTES: When a sub starts bowling for an absent or tardy
bowler, he/she will finish the event. NO switching or changing of assigned times or original line-up will be permitted except in case of emergency as decided by tournament committee or rep. A sub will be inserted for a missing bowler five minutes prior to each squad. No rearranging of line-up is permitted.
5. HANDICAP / DIVISIONS: Tournament handicap is 85% of 210. All divisions are determined by the bowler’s average NOT by gender.

Div. 1: 740 & Above / 370 & Above / 185 & Above
Div. 2: 620 – 739 / 310 - 369 / 155 – 184
Div. 3: 440 – 619 / 220 - 309 / 110 – 154
Div. 4: 439 & below / 219 & below / 109 & Below
6. DRESS CODE: Proper attire & all necessary underclothes must be worn at all times. NONE of the following allowed: Hats, Halter Tops, Tank Tops, Obscene Slogans or Liquor Advertisements. SWEAT PANTS AND BASKETBALL/MESH SHORTS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED. JEANS AND OR BLACK/KHAKI PANTS/SHORTS PERMITTED. Any other clothing under question will be decided at the discretion of the designated tournament director.
7. EDIQUET / CODE OF CONDUCT: NO electronic devices on the lanes while bowling (PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS DEVICES USED FOR LIVE STREAMING ARE PROHIBITED IN BOWLING CENTER! NO EXCEPTIONS). NO food/drink will be permitted in the bowler’s area. NO alcohol consumption will be permitted by adults behind the youth bowler’s lanes. NO smoking/vaping permitted on premises or by bowlers during competition. ALL OTHER YOUTH CONDUCT AND GENERAL PLAYING RULES WILL DEFAULT BACK TO THE 2025-2026 USBC NATIONAL RULEBOOK (Reference Rule 17d – PAGE 18).
17d. Youth Conduct Individuals holding youth membership can be removed from competition/functions and/or suspended/denied membership for the following: 1. Conduct derogatory to the best interest of youth bowling including, but not limited to, the following in conjunction with youth competition and functions: a. Using tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages. b. Using foul language or gestures. c. Wearing clothing depicting foul language or gestures. 2. Prior adjudication of delinquency or conviction of a crime including, but not limited to, crimes involving physical or mental abuse or sexual assault.
8. ENTRY FEES: Entries MUST be accompanied by a money order, check, or cashier’s check. Confirmations will be emailed to email provided. Checks to be made payable to Fort Wayne Metro USBC, and mailed to 6505 Constitution Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804. Any NSF checks will be assessed a charge of $30.00. Entry Fee: $15.00 per person/event (Lineage $9.00, Scholarship/Trophies $ 6.00). $5.00 for optional All-Events. ALL MONIES ARE DUE WHEN ENTRY FORM IS FILED!
9. PRIZES: The top 2 places in each division/each event will receive awards. A $100.00 scholarship will be awarded to 1st place winners of All-Events for each division.
10. TOURNAMENT CHECK-IN: All bowlers MUST check in at the tournament office at least 30 mins prior to shift start.
11. USBC RULES IN EFFECT: All USBC rules will apply at ALL TIMES. Violation of tournament rules will carry the penalty of disqualification of the bowler with no refund.
