2025 FIU Family Weekend

• Packages will be available for pickup starting Wednesday, September 17, through Saturday, September 20 (limited hours). The Family Weekend package will include an entrance to the Family Weekend Football Tailgate Event on Saturday, September 20 and a clear FIU-themed stadium bag with lots of FIU goodies valued for only $40! Please note that this package is priced per individual family member. Children 12 and under are free for the Family Weekend Tailgate event. Make sure to wear FIU gear to celebrate the weekend!
• You can still attend any free events and experiences on campus and/or purchase optional ticketed events and FIU limited edition swag items listed below. Please pick up a complimentary FIU Family Weekend Lanyard in GC 189 from September 17 – September 20 and wear it across campus to receive access to participating campus locations.

• Note: Do not purchase a Family Weekend Package for any current FIU student. They are not required to pay, but they must show their FIU OneCard at the entrance of the Family Weekend Tailgate event should they like to attend. You will have the opportunity to share their information prior to your arrival for us to verify they are a current FIU student. As a reminder, giveaway items are only distributed to individuals who purchase a package. While your student is allowed to attend for free with their OneCard, they will not receive giveaway items.

• FIU Campus Tours - Tours will be available for FIU family members on Friday, September 19, at 11 AM and at 2 PM (1 hour long). We will be departing from the Office of Orientation and Family Programs in GC 189. Please arrive 10 minutes before departure. Register for a campus tour by clicking here or by visiting go.fiu.edu/campustour.
• FIU Family Tailgate - Saturday, September 20 from 3 - 6 pm | Modesto Maidique Campus – Near the Pitbull Stadium. Join us for the FIU Family Tailgate — a fun-filled afternoon designed for Panther families! Enjoy lawn games, food, refreshments, and the chance to connect with fellow families and members of the FIU community before the football game. The exact tailgate location will be shared via email with all registered participants. Please note: A Family Weekend Package is required for entry. Children 12 and under may attend for free.
• FIU Football Tunnel Formation - Reserve your spot within this Eventbrite link! Family Weekend attendees will have the opportunity to form the tunnel on the field for the football team to run through as they take the field to play the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens! Participants (non-FIU students) must purchase a football game ticket to participate in the gameday tunnel inside the stadium. Students have free entry to all FIU Home Football Games with their FIU OneCard. The time and meetup location will be sent out closer to game day. Please RSVP in this Eventbrite link when you see the option.

Additional Ticketed Events and FIU Swag Purchases:

• FIU Football vs. Delaware (Ticket Link - TBD) Kickoff is at 6:00 PM, Pitbull Stadium - Cheer our Panthers on to a victory against the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens! Make sure to wear your Biscayne Blue gear, purchase your discounted family game ticket here, and get excited for the game! FIU Athletics requires everyone 2 years old and above to have a ticket for admission into all FIU Athletic events.

• Purchase a limited-edition FIU Family Straw hat for only $30!

• If you are an FIU alumnus/alumna and currently have an enrolled student, purchase a Panther Legacy Pin for only $12 to be a part of a new campus tradition where your student can wear this pin to special events on campus and graduation! It would include an FIU Panther Legacy Pin, a small storage bag, and a certificate!

Additional Family Weekend Activities:

In addition to our events taking place from Friday, September 19 to Sunday, September 21, we encourage you to participate in our programs hosted by various departments and tour the city of Miami. Note: The schedule is continuously being updated this summer, so we encourage everyone to check back regularly for the latest details and additions.
