About this Event

On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 7:30 to 9 PM EST, a candidates’ debate on disability issues for the Federal Election will be held at the CNIB in Toronto. Live attendance welcome. It will also be streamed live on the internet and will be hosted by Toronto Star reporter David Rider.
This event is being organized by a consortium of disability organizations: Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Alliance, ARCH Disability Law Centre, Centre for Independent Living in Toronto, CNIB, Community Living Toronto, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, OASIS, Autism Ontario, Ontario Autism Coalition, ES Canada, Empowered Kids Ontario, March of Dimes and Reena.
This is a non-partisan event. We want voters to know where the parties stand on issues that are important to people with disabilities, their families and loved ones.
The Conservatives, NDP, Green Party, Bloc Québécois and Liberals have all been invited to designate a candidate to represent their party, in person.
Please note, CNIB is fully accessible. Light refreshments will be available. Attendant care, live captioning and American Sign Language interpretation will also be available. There is paid on-site parking.
Click on “Reserve a spot” to register and submit any accommodations.
A link to the webcast will be sent to all registrants on April 7. Please note registration closes at 4:00pm EST on April 7.
