Start Logistics:We will start promptly at 8am, downtown at the Long Beach Transit Mall - Shelter F, on the south side of 1st St, adjacent to the intersection with The Promenade.
Parking has been a problem on this walk the last two times we walked it, so I will check the parking situation and possibly update the start location. The only parking I know for sure will be available is the City Lot C on 3rd St near the Promenade. See blue "P" marker on the map.

No dogs, and no hiking poles. We have had to much trouble in the past with dogs on the walks. Also, hiking poles and people in close proximity on stairs or other confined walkways, do not mix. Also, if you have an important cell phone call that you must answer, please move to the back of the group, so the leader can do their job of communicating with the group, and not have to compete with your cell conversation. I dislike having to remind everyone of common courtesy, but we have had trouble with this issue on a past walk.

Route Description
We will wind our way through the Long Beach downtown waterfront area, traversing 51 stairways as we visit:
- The Historic Villa Riviera
- The LB Terrace Theater
- The Historic Breakers Hotel
- The LB Arena with large Wyland mural
- Rainbow Lagoon and Park
- Shoreline Village
- The LB Convention Center
- The 600 ft long Rainbow Ped Bridge
- Ocean Center Building
- Catalina Landing
- The Queensway Bridge with 4 bookend stairways
- Pierpoint Landing
- The Aquarium of the Pacific
- The Pike
- Caesar Chavez Park
- Billie Jean King Main Library
- Lincoln Park
- A pair of Ped Over-Crossings, one with a mural!
- Long Beach Municipal Auditorium Mosaic Mural
- A number of pre-1910 historic homes
- Many historic buildings in DTLB
- Numerous excellent murals
all in 9.5 miles of walking.
