2025 Certified Energy Manager (CEM®) Prep Course

Obtain your Certifiication in Energy Management

The Arizona chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) will kick off their Certified Energy Manager (CEM) training on September 3, 2025. This semester-long course is offered to help those in the energy field expand their knowledge and gain the recognition they deserve. Classes will be held every Wednesday evening starting September 3rd and will conclude with the certification exam on December 10th. Tuition is $2,000 and includes all class materials as well as the testing fee. If you have attended our course in the past, but need to retake the CEM exam, the cost is $250.

What is a CEM?

A Certified Energy Manager is an individual who optimizes the energy performance of a facility, building or industrial plant. The CEM® is a systems integrator for electrical, mechanical, process and building infrastructure, analyzing the optimum solutions to reduce energy consumption in a cost-effective approach. CEM’s are often team leaders and help to develop and implement their organizations’ energy management strategies. CEM’s have gained increased recognition within the energy industry and by companies looking to strengthen their competitive position by having a CEM on staff. The mission of AEE is “to promote the scientific and educational interests of those engaged in the energy industry and to foster action for Sustainable Development.

When is the Exam?

The exam will be held on December 10th, 2025.

How much does this course cost?

Tuition is $2,000 which includes both class materials and the testing fee. If you have attended our course previously, but need to retake the CEM exam, the cost is $250.
