Event Overview

TARCOG’s Alabama Cares Program is proud to present the 9th Caregiver College. This is a free, one-day conference designed to educate, empower, and elevate family and professional caregivers. Join 300+ peers, experts, and community partners for practical workshops, hands-on caregiver labs, and a robust resource expo—so you leave with tools you can use the very next day.

Our Alabama Cares Program supports caregivers across five North Alabama counties with respite, acess assistance, supplemental support, and education. This signature event aligns with the 4Ms Framework of Age-Friendly Care—What Matters, Medic*tion, Mentation, and Mobility—to put the caregiver’s real-world needs at the center.

• Family caregivers supporting an older adult or person with disabilities

• Kinship/relative caregivers and grandfamilies

• Social workers, nurses, nursing home administrators (CEUs provided)

• Community partners, aging-services professionals, and anyone seeking practical strategies and resources

• What Matters: Goal-setting, care planning, advocacy, navigating appointments, home setup for safe discharges

• Medic*tion: Safe Medic*tion use, questions to ask providers, organizing meds & records

• Mentation: Dementia care strategies, communication tips, brain health supports

• Mobility: Fall prevention, home modifications, movement & daily function

On-site parking is available at or near the Huntsville Marriott at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Specific parking instructions and entrance details will be emailed to registrants the week of the event.
