ABOUT THE BIG BASH
First held in 2020, Orchestra Wellington's Big Bash is an annual mass play-in event which brings together hundreds of instrumentalists from across the Wellington region in a glorious afternoon of music-making.
Conducted by Orchestra Wellington's Music Director Marc Taddei, together we will rehearse then perform a selection of much-loved works. This year's repertoire includes Tchaikovsky's Romeo & Juliet Fantasy Overture and 1812 Overture!
Anyone is welcome to come along and watch both the rehearsal and the performance entirely for FREE. Rehearsal runs from 1-3pm with the concert starting at 3:30pm.
FOR PARTICIPANTS:
There are some important things to note before you arrive for this year's Big Bash:
👉 Location: Lower Hutt Events Centre at 30c Laings Road, Hutt Central, Lower Hutt 5010.
👉 Timings: Please arrive no later than 12:45pm. Rehearsal runs from 1-3pm, then a short break before our free concert for community, family, and friends at 3:30pm.
👉 Bring with you: Your instrument(s), a music stand, a pencil, and any mutes or accessories that may be required (as per your part).
