GERARD COX + C.G. RYAN + DVVID WATSON
a journey through
contrast and nuance
to transcend
boundaries in time
and space
This experimental show will be a journey of nuance between sonic and visual contrast and boundaries to transcend time and space. Fuse Factory’s new surround sound system will envelope the audience in a transportive soundscape, and walls will expand and dissolve with audio-reactive visuals projection mapped on the forty-foot walls and vaulted ceiling of the historic Old First Sanctuary.
GERARD COX is a musician and events creator, who has a long history in the Columbus improvisational music community. Gerard is also a board member of the Fuse Factory, Electronic and Digital Arts Lab, advocating for creative education and experimentation in the live and digital music spaces.
C.G. RYAN is a media artist and scenic designer who creates playful, surreal imagery that she mixes in real time performances to create vistas of inner and outer space, layering tangibility with the imaginary. She holds an MFA in Visual Arts: New Media from CCAD, and collaborates with artists, musicians, and producers to create transportive, immersive experiences for audiences at live events and in theatrical productions.
DVVID WATSON is a musician and an experimental audio/visual artist that combines field recordings, audio scraps, synthesizers, and effects to create unusual sound environments.
MURAL REMIX (projection design) is a collective of digital artists that transforms spaces with beautifully designed projection experiences. Mural ReMix both creates and curates digital arts events on both intimate and monumental scales.
Venue: Old First (Sanctuary).
Performances will be held in the vaulted-dome ceiling sanctuary of the historic Old First Presbyterian Church at 1101 Bryden Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43205. The Fuse Factory supports the Old First to serve as a hub for artistic exploration and performance for the last several years, providing a practice gathering space as well as an inviting and dramatic performance venue.
Fuse Factory Artist Residency Program: The Fuse Factory has received grants from the Ohio Arts Council, the Greater Columbus Arts Council, the Columbus Foundation, and private donors to support sonic + visual artist partnerships, providing artist funding, and venue, and promotion for live performance.
