2025 Adirondack Train Ride by Bear-a-Cuse

Come experience the changing of seasons in style with your fellow bears on this luxurious Adirondack train ride, provided by Adirondack Railroad!

Event Date/Time: Saturday October 11th, 2024, 8:30am-6:30pm (check-in starts 8am)

Ticket Price: $46/person (sales end 10/8, refunds will not be processed after this point since we have to give a final count of ticket sales to the railroad ahead of the event)

This will be a round trip from Utica to Thendara, New York. There will be an approximately 5 hour layover at our destination for passengers to relax and explore the charming Adirondack environment - a complimentary shuttle into nearby Old Forge is provided. Each leg of the trip is ~2.5 hours in length, for a total round-trip time of 10 hours. Travel times are approximate - exact schedule/times are dependent on railway operations.

The train departs from Union Station (321 Main Street, Utica, NY 13501) at 8:30am sharp. Please arrive early with ample time to check in and board!

To check in, show your Eventbrite ticket to a Bear-a-Cuse organizer. They will then give you your boarding pass for the train.

Per Adirondack Railroad rules, no outside alcohol is allowed and smoking/vaping of any kind is not permitted.

A café car will be available to purchase "light and hearty fare", plus wine and beer. The train also features restrooms, and accessibility accommodations are available for those who require them (please contact in advance to guarantee accessibility).

All Bears and friends of Bears are welcome to this inclusive event!

Info: Arrive at the train station and seek out a Bear-a-Cuse organizer (they will have Bear flags and will be wearing either Bear-a-Cuse merch or leather). Check in with them by showing them your Eventbrite tickets for the event and they will give you instruction on how to board the Bear's semi-private railcar.

Info: Ride in the Bear-a-Cuse railcar with your fellow community members! Say hi to your fellow Bears and friends, enjoy the adjacent scenic viewing railcar, and partake in snacks and beverages from the train's cafe car. Total ride time of approximately 2.5 hours.

Info: The train will arrive at the Thendara stop on the Adirondack Railway, just a short way away from Old Forge. The railway provides busses to bring people into Old Forge, but the distance is also walkable. Everyone has ~4.5 hours to explore the area. Partake in wonderful local food and drink! Have fun playing at the local arcade, catching a movie at the rustic cinema, or shopping at the famous hardware store and boutiques! Above all, use this as an opportunity to meet your fellow Bears and community members. If you don't know someone, introduce yourself and make a new friend! Buses will continue to circuit between Old Forge and the Thendara train station.
