About this Event
Come To Our Reception and Hear How Parish Halls Aided Early LGBTQ Activism
Our annual Virginia Ramey Mollenkott Award, coinciding this year with the 25th anniversary of the LGBTQ Religious Archives Network, is the only one of its kind that honors outstanding research and scholarship in LGBTQ religious history. This year's award goes to Heather Rachelle White, PhD, for her paper exploring the importance of the church parish hall—a space where the sacred and secular overlap—in facilitating the early LGBTQ rights movement. Enjoy food, drinks and mingling at our reception followed by an interview and Q&A with White. This event is co-sponsored by Gerber Hart Library & Archives.
Persons in the Chicago area are encouraged to attend in person. This will be livestreamed for those outside the Chicago metro area.
