Say welcome to our new dancers, extend a warm welcome back to our returning dancers, and celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Manassas Ballet Academy and the launching of our new scholarship fund — because we believe in the future! MBT continues to grow, and our student dancers are the heart of what comes next.
All proceeds from this event will go toward the scholarship Jund to help support and uplift the next generation of dancers.
This special event is more than just a gathering—it's a celebration of our journey and a toast to our future. We're honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Manassas Ballet Academy, a testament to five decades of dedication to the art of ballet. From our humble beginnings as a local dance studio, we've blossomed into the largest professional performing arts organization in Northern Virginia, with an international reach and a commitment to excellence .
Under the visionary leadership of Artistic Director Amy Grant Wolfe, who took the helm in 1999, MBT has transformed into a beacon of cultural enrichment. Amy's dedication led to the donation of the academy to the non-profit Manassas Performing Arts, Inc. in 2007, solidifying our mission to make ballet accessible and affordable to all .
MBT's growth is not just in numbers but in impact. With a company of 25 professional dancers from around the globe and an orchestra of 45 musicians, we present four major productions each season, and reach over 6,000 area public school students through our Educational Outreach performances.
As we look to the future, we're excited to announce the launch of our scholarship fund. This initiative is rooted in our belief that the future of ballet lies in nurturing young talent. All proceeds from this event will directly support this fund, ensuring that passionate and dedicated students have the opportunity to pursue their dreams, regardless of financial circumstances.
