Join us for the 2025-2026 Highlands Youth Citrus Project! This project is open to all Highlands County youth ages 8+ by Sept. 1, 2025.About this Event
The Highlands Youth Citrus Project is open to all Highlands County youth ages 8+ as of September 1, 2025. This 10 month project will allow youth to learn about the citrus industry, teach important life skills, and sell their citrus tree at the 2026 Highlands County Fair. There are multiple aspects to this project so be sure if you plan to participate that you can fully commit.
You have the option to purchase one tree kit for $30, or two tree kits for $60. If you purchase two, you will pick the better tree to submit to the Highlands County Fair for judging and sale.

Agenda
Highlands Youth Citrus Project Expectations
1. Attend 2 of the 4 scheduled meetings (meeting #1 is mandatory)
2. Complete a record book
3. Complete a display board or illustrated talk
4. Submit your citrus tree to the Highlands County Fair
5. Submit thank you letters to buyer & sponsors
