About this Event
This year we are highlighting women and technology that advances conservation. Kicking off the program we will hear Nicole Stott, a former NASA Astronaut and author of “Back to Earth: What Life in Space Taught Me About Our Home Planet―And Our Mission to Protect It”, about her work on the international space station. Following her presentation, Bianca Cassouto from The Everglades Foundation will teach us about the brand-new interactive learning app that is connecting classrooms across the world to the Everglades. To wrap up the program, Rachel Shanker from FPL’s Manatee Lagoon will talk about the GPS tracking devices that are used to monitor rehabilitated manatees and how this technology is providing valuable research.
