Friends of Roberts is pleased to participate in the annual Winter Bird Count (also called the Christmas Bird Count) for the Minneapolis West Circle scheduled for Sunday, December 17, from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. or so. Last year, 116 birders in this Circle counted 7,806 birds representing 52 species.Friends of Roberts will coordinate the count primarily in the Sanctuary and William Berry Woods and report on the species and number of birds observed at these sites.
All are welcome to participate, and no signup is required! At the start of the count, the Friends of Roberts will provide hot coffee and cocoa in the visitors shelter at the east entrance (adjacent to the Peace Garden parking lot).
