This year marks the 18th anniversary for VTWFF, we are the largest film festivals focusing on Taiwanese cinema in North America.Theme this year: "Honoring Tradition, Igniting Innovation傳承與創新." ??
?️ Experience a mix of Taiwanese Canadian and local films, from nostalgic 90s classics to groundbreaking contemporary hits.
?️ Highlights include:
"Vive L'Amour" (1994) by Tsai Ming-liang, "Life of Pi" (2012) by Ang Lee,
and the Golden Horse winner "Old Fox" (2023) by Xiao Ya-quan.
-Short Film: "But First, Coffee" (2021) by Shi Wen-han, followed by a panel discussion with two special guests from Taiwan.
-Special Production: "High in Love" (2024) directed by Taiwanese Canadian Award Winning director Jeremy Chiao, a micro-film showcasing western and asian cross-cultural narratives and young Taiwanese talents in North America.
? Dive deeper into the industry with our Hollywood North Taiwanese Canadian Indie Film Industry Panel discussing the blend of Taiwanese cultural themes with North American cinema.
