The Diocese of Lafayette joyfully announces and invites you to the Ordination to the Transitional Diaconate of Brother John Paul Fruge, CJC. The ordination will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 10 AM at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette, with Bishop Douglas Deshotel officiating.Brother John Paul Fruge, born in 1992 and raised in Welsh, Louisiana, is a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University and a Master's in Philosophy from Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans. Sponsored by the Community of Jesus Crucified in St. Martinville, he is set to receive his M.Div in Theology this December at Notre Dame Seminary.
Br. John Paul is the son of John and Elizabeth Frugé. The newly ordained Deacon John Paul Fruge will celebrate his first Mass at a small, private ceremony at Community of Jesus Crucified, by invitation only.
