2024 State of Downtown

As our Downtown continues to evolve, the Downtown Council is excited to announce a new evolution of the Office Summit and introduce the 1st Annual State of Downtown on Wednesday, November 20 at the brand new Origin Hotel along the Berkley Riverfront.

Great downtowns are no longer reducible to offices. Throughout history, they have been the most adaptive and resilient districts in our cities. Continual works in progress, they have been rebuilt and remade in the aftermath of all manner of crises and challenges. The pandemic accentuated the need for downtowns to continue to evolve into mixed-use neighborhoods that diversify their land uses while prioritizing livability.

The State of Downtown is a celebration of downtown development, economic growth, art and culture. We’re excited to welcome panelists, Mukul Sharma with Palmer Square Capital Management, and Eric Nordness with Marquee Development. Together, with their mixed-use development of the KC Riverfront District anchored by the brand new CPKC Stadium, they are extending the essence of a new Kansas City neighborhood to the riverfront.
