8 Week Class Dates: April 25th, May 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, June 6th, 13th. Spotlight Showcase is on Sunday, June 16 on The Edmond Town Hall Theater Stage
Grades 3-6 (meet 4:30-5:30 Thursdays)
Grades 7-12 (meet 6:00-7:00 Thursdays)
ABOUT: Students will be assigned a group/partner scene and will learn to analyze a script and break down a character. By performing with scene partners, they will learn the importance of being able to listen and truthfully react to their partner. They will also learn how to block a scene (i.e. work out details of the environment that the scene takes place in and choose movements that feel truthful to their characters).
Students will also have the opportunity to participate in improv and movement exercises, focusing on creative thinking and body awareness. Students will tap into their imagination and learn to fully connect and listen to scene partners.
This is a powerfully creative and unique opportunity for actors through both performance and observation of their fellow actors.
