2024 SC State Fair 4-H Poultry Showmanship

Registration for the 4-H Poultry Showmanship Contest at the State Fair is open until Monday, September 30, 2024, at 11:59pm.

THIS REGISTRATION IS FOR YOUTH ONLY.

DO NOT REGISTER ADULTS OR ANY ADDITIONAL SPECTATORS.

• The show is open to all SC 4-H members ages 5 to 18 (as of January 1, 2024) and SC FFA members.
• You will receive a parking pass and will enter the fairground at GATE 1 located on Rosewood Drive off Assembly Street.
• Check-in begins at 8:30am. The contest will begin promptly at 10:00am.
• All birds MUST be blood tested according to NPIP BEFORE coming to the fair. Therefore, an official NPIP band on your bird along with associated paper work should accompany your bird.
• Please bring the bird you will be showing in a suitable cage with plenty of clean bedding, water and feed.
• All birds entered in the show must be free of parasites, or any contagious condition. A health check may be conducted before your bird is allowed to enter the showring.
• You are responsible for providing food and water for your bird, along with suitable containers for feed and water.
• Your bird will be held in a secure place until 6pm that night if you choose to remain at the Fair.
• Spectators may want to bring a folding chair as the grandstands are a little far away for viewing the show.

SHOWMANSHIP DIVISIONS (age as of January 1, 2024)

Cloverbud Division: Ages 5-8

Junior Division: Ages 9-13

Senior Division: Ages 14-18

*These classes may be divided differently at the discretion of the show superintendent after registration is complete.

Custodial Care: Please note that this event and its coordinators do not assume custodial care of youth in attendance. Adults (parents, guardians, volunteers, coaches, or chaperones) must be present for the supervision of youth participants.
