CALL FOR PAPER PRESENTATION
RATIONALE
This Research Colloquium is an annual research activity of the Graduate School of Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology (BISCAST) which is usually conducted at the institutional level. But this 2024, with the purpose of strengthening the collaboration among HEIs within the Bicol Region and broadening the horizon of the College, the activity is now open for research presentation among the private and public higher education institutions with Graduate Programs in Region V. It focuses on UN Sustainable Development Goal #4 that is Quality Education. It aims to bring the sensitivity of the Graduate School Faculty Members and students about their duties and responsibility in addressing the concerns and problems of our society in providing inclusive and transformative education. Thus, the theme of this year’s colloquium, “Shaping the Futures of Education Through Knowledge Creation and Social Innovation”.
This gives emphasis on identifying the significant contribution of knowledge creation as part of growing demands for research-based and data-driven management decision making. It promotes the significance of research in providing programs, projects and activities which are grounded and relevant to the needs of the learning communities. Meanwhile, social innovation is an important aspect of management which aims to improve the welfare and wellbeing of individuals and communities. Knowledge creation and social innovation can work together in enhancing sustainable programs as support to the human capital development of the organization. The integration of these concepts in the graduate programs could build a strong foundation in delivering the curricula which are relevant to the demands of the community and industry.
OBJECTIVES
The activity aims to:
1. Support the needs of the Graduate School Faculty Members and students in the dissemination of their research findings and best practices.
2. Build a strong collaboration among researchers in the Bicol region through intellectual discussions from research presentations.
3. Enhance the level of research interest among Graduate School students with proper motivation and growth mindset.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
1. Abstracts within 200-250 words should be submitted using the google form link: https://bit.ly/RCGE-Call4Paper
2. It must contain the following sections: Title of the article, Name of the Authors (All Capital Letters for the name of the Presenter and Normal Case letters for the co-author/s), Affiliation, email address, objectives of the study, methodology, significant findings, implication of the findings to education for sustainable development, intended communities and discipline, and keywords (3 to 7-alphabetically arranged separated by semi-colon).
3. It should be typed single-spaced, Times New Roman with font size of 12 pts.
4. Ensure that all authors are included in the submission of abstract.
5. An acknowledgement receipt will be sent to the corresponding author.
6. An email will also be sent upon acceptance or non-acceptance of the paper for presentation.

Important Dates:
Abstract Submission Deadline: April 6, 2024
Notification of Acceptance: 5 days after the acknowledgement receipt
Full Paper Submission Deadline: April 13, 2024
Full Paper Submission and Best Conference Paper Guidelines
1. Papers submitted on or before the deadline will be considered for the selection of Best Conference Papers
2. Use the Paper ID Number as filename (ex. RCGE-2024-001-Fullpaper.docx)
3. The final paper should have the following content and sections: Title of the Paper, Name of the Authors, Affiliation, email address, keywords (at least 3), Introduction, Materials and Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion and Recommendation, Acknowledgement (if any) and References (APA Style).
4. Final Papers should be submitted electronically in MS Word (8.5”x11” paper) to the Committee via this submission link: https://forms.gle/bSsWUyqgDE4N736w5
5. An acknowledgement email will be sent to the presenting author upon receipt of the final paper.
6. All submitted full papers will be evaluated for the selection of Top 3 best research colloquium papers based on the following criteria: Academic Significance (25%); Contribution to the Community (25%); Quality of Information (25%); Technical Novelty (20%); Language Usage (5%)
Submission of Visual Presentation and Guidelines for Oral Presentation
1. There is no prescribed template for the visual presentation.
2. The Visual material should not be more than 15 slides, and include the title of study, name of author/s, affiliation and email. Succeeding slides will be composed of Introduction, Objectives of the Study, comprehensive methodology, major findings (in tables, graphs, images and/or texts in bullets), conclusion, recommendation, and acknowledgements.
3. Each presenter is given 10 minutes for an oral presentation during the parallel sessions. There will be 15 minutes of academic exchange after all the presentations in the session.
4. The visual material shall be submitted in the prescribed Google Form link: https://forms.gle/CcSBgoUAhMxeWfD1A on or before April 22, 2024.
5. Certificate of Research Presentation will be awarded during the closing program.
6. This is the set of criteria for the Selection of Best Research Presenter for each session: Mastery of the topic and Organization of Ideas (25%); Language Use, Delivery and Confidence (25%); Content of Visual Presentation (25%); Question and Answer (25%);
7. Only one (1) Best Research Presenter will be awarded for each session.
Registration Fee
Participants and Authors of accepted papers for presentation will be asked to pay a minimal registration fee amounting to Php 300.00 just to pay for the food, certificates and copy of the colloquium proceeding thru GCASH: 0949-8282822 (Jake Laguador). Only acknowledgement receipt will be provided to the participants.
