Hi Everyone, This will be our first planting day of the season. We'll be going through a few formalities, have a bit of a meet and greet, before getting stuck into some planting.
We'll kick off around 9am but if anyone was available before to help gather the plants and tolls etc, please reach out and let me know.
If it is raining we may re-assess but after the summer that we've had, getting the plant in on a rainy day probably isn't going to be a bad thing :)
WHAT TO BRING
- Enclosed shoes
- Hat & sun protection
- Gloves if you have them
- Water
- Rain jacket if it looks like light showers
WHERE TO MEET
- We will be in the centre of the reserve near where the 2 paths meet.
*** UPDATE ***
As you've probably noticed, we're still getting quite dry and warm weather. I had a look down at the reserve today and the proposed planting area is incredibly dry, dusty and hydrophobic.
I've also spoken with some people who are much smarter than me, who've all recommended pushing back the first planting to the end of June.
So we'll be changing the first planting date to the 30th of June so that we can give the plants a much better chance of survival.
This was probably all a result of my wishful thinking and eagerness to get started, but I hope you can all make it down in June ?
