2024 Philadelphia Christmas Light Tour!

DESCRIPTION

For over a decade now we've been taking, first family and friends, and now you - on an amazing tour of some of the best Christmas and other holiday decorations in the city of Philadelphia. You can't find a better way to get into the holiday spirit than this! From entire blocks that will leave you breathless to countless individual homes that really bring the feeling of Christmas to life, if this tour does not put you in the mood for some holiday magic, nothing will! We will cover about five miles on this tour (not counting the walk back if you choose to skip using SEPTA's Broad Street Subway) and along the way your guide will not only help guide you buy will bring the Christmas Spirit (literally on their back) with music and hot beverages for sale. Additionally they can and will gladly share some local history as well as knowledge of some of the best restaurants, bars, bakeries, and more along the route! Bring you entire family, co-workers, neighbors, friends, and more!

Put on those walking shoes, grab a bottle of water or a hot drink, and get ready for an amazing holiday tour through the city of brotherly love, and sisterly affection, as we SEEK out the best holiday displays in the city, EXPLORE countless blocks all decked out, and WANDER about town.

BASIC INFORMATION

• Start Time: 6:30 PM (Nightly) (Except Friday 12/20 - that's a 7PM Start)
• End Times: 9:30 PM (Nightly) (Except Friday 12/20 - that's a 10PM End)
• Distance: 5-6 Miles (Plus return trip)

MEETING/END LOCATION

• NE Corner of Broad Street and Oregon Avenue in South Philly.
• Look for a 6^0 tall guy with a big blue bag on his back or at his feet with a flagpole sticking out of it high into the air and a giant boom box nearby. May or may not be dressed as Santa some nights!

RETURN TRIP

• The tour will officially end at Broad Street and Washington Avenue. From there you may return to Center City by SEPTA's Broad Street Subway, on foot, via Uber, etc.
• If you are returning to the starting point at Broad and Oregon you may also use the Broad Street Subway or
• The guide will be happy to give you any directions you need and can escort walkers or subways rider back to Broad and Oregon

TRANSPORTATION & PARKING

• Our meeting spot (and end points) are located along SEPTA's Broad Street Subway for your convenience.
• If you're driving in you can park along Marconi Plaza or along Bigler Street (east of Broad near the "South Philadelphia Super Site") or anywhere nearby as permitted. PLEASE respect and obey all posted traffic/parking signs!
• Please allow for time to find parking and walking to the starting point or the fact that the subway may be slow

WHAT TO BRING (GEAR)

• Good, solid, comfortable walking shoes that you can walk 5 miles in on concrete pavements & sidewalks. We advise not wearing flip-flops or any other flimsy footwear. We also advise that you not wear anything that you would mind getty dirty, dusty, wet, etc., depending on conditions.
• A bottle or two of water
• A bag or other means of carrying personal items
• Cameras & cellphones (for pictures) welcome! Make sure they're fully charged!
• Snacks as needed (something portable like trail mix, candy bars, fruit, etc.)
• Appropriate clothing based on the forecasted weather conditions - temperature, precipitation, etc. for the duration of the tour/event. Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions or concerns about clothing or other gear to bring before any tour/event.

BEVERAGES

• Adult Beverages available for a small $3 donation (paypal, venmo, cash)
• Hot chocolate available for a small $2 donation (paypal, venmo, cash)

BREAK/BATHROOMS

• There will two, ten minute bathroom breaks on our tour.
• Bathrooms are NOT available at the start/end point
• Other bathrooms needs will be up to participants to find, use, and then rejoin the group

PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS

• You can pay via the website, which will add a small fee
• You can also pay (and receive a manual ticket) via PayPal or Venmo

• If you pay via PayPal or Venmo, please include your name, the date and name of the tour/activity, and the # and type of tickets you are purchasing for the specific tour/activity.

NO-SHOWS & LATE ARRIVALS

• No-Shows will not be granted refunds or credits of any sort. Multiple no-shows for any tour/event may be banned depending on circumstances.
• If you arrive late and miss the tour you will not receive a refund or credit. All participants receive an email the day before a tour/event with the tour guide's contact information. If you are running late, it is your job to reach out to the tour guide to discuss if it's possible to catch up with the tour/group at a specific time and location BEFORE the listed start time of an event. Once an event begins it is not the tour guide's nor company's responsibility to respond to any phone calls, emails, text messages, etc. if you did not make it on time. Likewise, there's no guarantee that you be able to catch up with the group though we will try our best to accomodate reasonable requests due to unforseen circumstances.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

• You may cancel up to 24 Hours before the listed start time of this tour and receive a full refund. If you purchase via credit card you may not receive the transaction fee back, depending on circumstances. Please allow 3-5 business days (Monday to Friday) for all refunds to be processed.
• If you cancel after the 24 Hour deadline you will not receive a refund. No exceptions.
• The company does not cancel tours/events for inclement weather such as light rain, cold or hot temperatures, etc. We only cancel tours/events for conditions that we consider dangerous to participants either during the tour/event or for getting to/from the meeting location. Examples would be heavy flooding conditions and/or severe thunderstorms for the duration of the tour/event, ice or thick snow before, during, or immediately after the tour/event. If/when the company decides that the weather conditions warrant cancellation of an event, all participants will receive a full refund, minus any processing fees assessed by third party credit/finance companies/apps., within 3 to 5 business days.
