2024 Palliative Care Summit - Navigating the crossroads

Navigating the Crossroads – Building the intersection between palliative care and neurodegenerative disease is the theme of the 2024 Palliative Care Summit for Western Australia.

This biennial event will bring together palliative care, aged care and community service professionals, researchers, volunteers, policy makers, students, carers and community members to discuss future priorities for quality palliative care in WA.

The objectives of the summit are to:

• Provide an opportunity for clinicians, service providers and the community to interact with political and service leaders to discuss future priorities for quality palliative care in WA, with an emphasis on neurodegenerative diseases.
• Present international, national and local evidence and experience to inform the delivery of quality palliative care in WA.
• Embed the voice of lived experience, in particular those with experience of neurodegenerative diseases.
• Champion the role of carers, families, aged care providers and community, including the compassionate community approach, in the delivery of quality palliative care in WA.
• Provide an opportunity for attendees to be actively engaged in personal reflections and conversations about death, dying, grief and loss.

Thanks to funding from WA Health’s End-of-life Care Program, Navigating the Crossroads is FREE to attend.
