Join us for the 2024 NYCMER Annual Conference on May 13 at Teachers College, Columbia University. This year's theme is, "Why Museums? Reflection and Revitalization in the Field of Museum Education." Why, and how, are museums the cornerstones of education and community? We will reflect on our current responsibilities as museum educators and explore how we can revitalize existing methodologies and programming in the post-pandemic museum landscape. Together.

This year's conference will feature:

• Keynote discussion featuring Adjoa Jones de Almeida, the inaugural Executive Director for Forman Arts Initiative in Philadelphia, PA, and past Brooklyn Museum Director of Education, and later Deputy Director for Learning & Social Impact; and Sean Decatur, President of the American Museum of Natural History.
• 26 breakout sessions, as well as poster presentations, and hands-on activities on a variety of topics including: inclusivity, best practices and lessons learned, access, activism and social justice, community engagement, program development and facilitation, equity, diversity, advocacy, and more! • Opportunities to network and connect with friends and colleagues at peer group meet-ups, poster sessions, opening and closing receptions, and more!

Conference Scholarship

NYCMER is able to provide tickets to a limited number of applicants who would not be able to attend the 2024 NYCMER Conference without financial support.

This scholarship is intended for people who would have a hard time paying for their conference attendance on their own. All are welcome to attend the conference, and you do not need to be a member to apply for the scholarship. If you have institutional support that will pay for your registration, we please ask that you explore that option before you apply for the scholarship, as the number of scholarship sports is very limited.
