2024 Miss Juneteenth America Scholarship Pageantry Program™
The Miss Juneteenth America Scholarship Pageantry Program is more than a pageant. It is a transformative and empowering experience designed for young ladies nationwide between the ages of 13 and 18. Unlike traditional pageants, this program surpasses superficial beauty and talent showcases by breaking stereotypes, fostering personal growth, and strengthening the participants’ sense of cultural awareness. This pageant experience aims to minimize stereotypes; develop a sense of self-confidence and pride; and deepen the understanding of African and Black/African American history and culture.
The Third Annual Miss Juneteenth America Scholarship Pageantry Program™ will be hosted at The Battle House Hotel & Spa located in beautiful Mobile, Alabama on June 15, 2024!
Why Mobile, Alabama?
As we reflect on the meaning of Juneteenth, many do not know that Mobile is the home of the last slave ship, The Clotilda. Participants will learn about its discovery and the development of Africatown. To learn more about The Clotilda, please visit the following websites:

On the 19 th of June in the year 1865, Union soldiers enforced emancipation for over 300,000 enslaved people in Texas, the last of the slaves freed in Confederate states more than two and a half years after the effective date of the Emancipation Proclamation. That historic event took place in Galveston, Texas and has come to be known as Juneteenth. Although Juneteenth is now a national holiday, few people know the whole story of how freedom finally came to enslaved Texans and how the celebration of emancipation evolved.
