About this Event

The 2024 Minnesota Society of Professional Journalists Intern Night will be an excellent opportunity to learn about journalism internships throughout the state, network with media professionals and meet fellow journalism students from local colleges.

No previous internship experience is required to attend! After remarks from a panel of editors and media professionals, small-group breakout sessions will offer "speed dating"-style meetings with industry insiders. And yes, we'll treat you to free pizza.

Our event will take place at Minnesota Public Radio's UBS Forum, a secure facility, and an RSVP (and an I.D.) is a must. Space is limited.

Intern Night Studio is an opportunity for aspiring young journalists to meet hiring managers from media companies throughout the Twin Cities and learn about upcoming internship opportunities and network. Hosted by the Minnesota Society of Professional Journalists, this year’s event is held at Minnesota Public Radio Headquarters in downtown St. Paul overlooking the Minnesota Capitol.

Know before you go:

  • Event Site: Kling Public Media Center (Minnesota Public Radio’s Headquarters) 480 Cedar St, St Paul MN in downtown St. Paul, 5th floor UBS Forum
  • Closest parking ramp: World Trade Center Parking Ramp – 477 Cedar St, St Paul MN, right across MPR’s main entrance on Cedar Street
  • Mass Transit: Green Line stop closest to the MPR Building is the 10th Street Station, located ½ block north of MPR’s main entrance
  • Check in: You will need your state ID (driver’s license or school ID card) when you check in for this event at the MPR front desk

Space is limited at this free event: Only 60 spots are available. If you register and cannot attend, you must notify MN SPJ immediately so we can open available spots to those who can attend. Limited to one ticket per person.
