A note from your volunteer walk chair and committee:
We are excited to share that we are bringing back the Lexington Out of the Darkness Walk to Moondance Amphitheater for the 2024 Walk. We had great feedback after last year's event, and this location will continue to provide more space and opportunities for our Lexington walkers. Our volunteers are excited to welcome more Kentuckians to come together to fight suicide.

Registration is free and open to the public. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.

When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs based in current science, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.

that a 2022 Harris Poll revealed that 75% of adults in the U.S. believe it is more important than ever to make suicide
prevention a national priority. Your support will help bring our work to our local communities, while showing your
customers and employees that you care about mental health and preventing suicide. YOU can help us create a culture
that is smart about mental health.
Why We Walk:
Every year suicide claims more lives than war, murder, and natural disasters combined, and yet suicide prevention doesn't get the attention and funding given to other leading causes of death. It's up to Walkers like us to make Mental Health a priority in Indiana.
