Jim Hiser started carving in 2000 after attending the annual carving show at the West Shore Wood Carvers in Mechanicsburg Pa. Starting out he tried many forms of carving but after attending a seminar with Peter Ortel in 2001 he was immediately hooked on Caricature carving. Always a people watcher and enjoying the humorous side of life caricature carving turned into a passion for him. After much encouragement Jim started teaching in 2009. He now travels the country to teach and attend many Carving and art shows displaying his work and doing carving demos to promote wood carving. Jim resides in Carlisle Pa. with his wife Joan and is a member of several carving clubs.

Cost of the class - $195 for 3 day class per student plus the cost of the rough out. Rough outs range from $18 - $35
