The Columbia World Affairs Council is pleased to present the 2024 Global Vision Award to the University of South Carolina's International Business Programs at the Darla Moore School of Business, honoring William R. Folks Jr., Kendall Roth, and posthumously, former Dean of the Business School, James F. Kane, in celebration of the renowned program's 50th anniversary. This will mark the 31st year the Columbia World Affairs Council has presented the award to recognize a global vision that has made a significant impact on projecting South Carolina internationally. A black tie gala will be held on Tuesday, December 3, at the Columbia Museum of Art. The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by the dinner program at 7:45 p.m.
"The award-winning International Business Programs at the University of South Carolina's Darla Moore School of Business have trained outstanding global business leaders for half a century," said Bob Coble, former Columbia Mayor and Chair of Columbia World Affairs Council Board of Directors. "Now, those leaders have spread across every corner of the world representing South Carolina and the Gamecock spirit. As a result, our state has become synonymous world-wide with excellence and as a welcoming destination for trade and investment."
Founded in 1993, Columbia World Affairs Council showcases South Carolina globally through enlightening educational programming and innovative international exchanges. Through our vast network of regional and international partners, the Council continues developing opportunities to increase economic prosperity and global education while advancing South Carolina as an international destination.
The Annual Global Vision Award Gala is the Council’s only fund-raising event. Established in in 1994, and the first award recipient was Governor Carroll A. Campbell. The 2023 Global Vision Award was given to Coach Dawn Staley.
