Arkansas State University will host the 2024 Fall Commencement at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, at First National Bank Arena, 217 Olympic Drive.

Approximately 2,000 students are candidates for degrees.

Doors at First National Bank Arena will open at 8:30 a.m. for the commencement.

Emanuel Cazano, a biological sciences major with an emphasis in pre-professional studies from Jonesboro, will be the ceremony's student speaker.

Arkansas State Chancellor Todd Shields and Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Calvin White Jr. will present diplomas to the graduating students.

Graduates will represent the College of Agriculture, College of Business, College of Education and Behavioral Science, College of Engineering and Computer Science, College of Liberal Arts and Communication, College of Nursing and Health Professions, College of Sciences and Mathematics, and University College. Graduates will sit with their respective colleges.

During the commencement, five students will graduate summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA, 45 have attained magna cum laude distinction with a 3.80-3.99 GPA, and 62 will receive cum laude status with a GPA of 3.60-3.79.

Guests and graduates can enter through the upper red and yellow entrances of First National Bank Arena and are encouraged to arrive early to avoid traffic expected due to commencement.

The public is welcome to attend, and no tickets are required for entry. Parking is free at the First National Bank Arena. No parking will be allowed on grass surfaces. Attendees should note the arena's clear bag policy will be in effect for the event.
