2024 Dublin All-Day Singing - Shapenote Music

Sacred Harp or shape note singing is a four-part a cappella music dating from the 16th through the 20th centuries. It is characterised by haunting harmonies, traditional modes, raucous songs, serene hymns, fast fugues, and high-energy anthems. The notation is written in shapes that correspond to degrees of the scale, making it easy to sight-sing.

We meet for the joy of singing, and we don't perform. You are welcome to come and observe to see whether you like it, but you're even more welcome to come and give it a go!
