2024 Annual Chattanooga Humanitarian Awards Banquet

The Alton Park Development Corporation recognizes these individuals that must have demonstrated personal sacrifices to help downtrodden, poor and disadvantaged individuals for more than 10 years.

2024 Chattanooga Honorees

• Herbert “Book” McCray - retired educator, counselor, mentor, author, Dropout Prevention Specialist, founder of the now current “Boys to Men” outreach ministry,
• Rev. Leroy Griffith - Presbyterian Minister, Civil Rights Activist, Historical first inter-racial marriage in state of Tennessee
• Judge Alex McVeagh - Hamilton Cty. Circuit Trial Court Judge, founder of Hamilton Cty. Drug Recovery Court, implemented the Eviction Diversion Initiative
• Mariah Huq - former Public Affairs news anchor, entrepreneur, creator & producer of Bravo’s “Married to Medicine”
• John Edwards, III- historic Civil Rights leader, founder & editor of the Chattanooga News Chronicle, decorated Vietnam veteran
