Water Resilience: Sustaining Communities, Protecting Ecosystems - in Albany on April 23-25, 2024
About this Event

Our 2024 conference, Water Resilience: Sustaining Communities, Protecting Ecosystems, will highlight recent studies, changes in basin conditions, and use of that information in management of shared resources in the Apalachicola-Flint-Chattahoochee River (ACF) Basin. Researchers, managers, water users, and other stakeholders are invited to join us to exchange information and learn about shared resources.

The in-person conference opens on Tuesday, April 23 with your choice of two field trips:

  • Restoration/conservation tour with reception and dinner: $75. A bus and walking tour of Radium Springs, New Communities at Resora, and the Stripling Irrigation Research Park, followed by a reception and dinner at Covey Rise on the banks of the Flint River.
  • River paddle with reception and dinner at Covey Rise on the banks of the Flint River.

Bus transportation to and from the Hilton Garden Inn will be provided for both field trips. Space for the field trips with dinner is limited; we suggest that you register early.

Program sessions will be held Wednesday, April 24 and Thursday, April 25 at Albany State University's West Campus. A poster session and reception at the Flint RiverQuarium is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, April 24. The program on Thursday, April 25 features an ACF drought exercise coordinated by the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint Stakeholders (ACFS). Attendees are welcome to stay for the ACFS business meeting that follows.

Early registration for the two-day program is $200, ending March 31. On April 1, registration for the full conference package increases to $225. Student registration for the two-day program is $50 and one-day registration rates are also available.
