About this Event
Minoru Yamasaki, Detroit’s best-known midcentury architect, left his mark all over the city. This tour, offered once per summer to the public, explores Yamasaki’s legacy in the Cultural Center. Learn how Yamasaki helped to establish the College of Creative Studies' new 1950s campus and how he came to Wayne State University in the 1950s to extend and execute their master plan with new buildings and a pedestrian-friendly campus. Highlights include the magnificent McGregor Conference Center and reflecting pool.
The tour departs from the Josephine Ford Sculpture Garden on John R at E. Kirby.
